23-May-2008: TPL's new West Blood Bag Plant building was inaugurated by Mr. Kenji Sekine (President Transfusion Business, Terumo Corporation, Japan) at 10 am. With this expansion project, TPL aims to double its production capacity which is presently 13 Million.

07-Apr-2008: TPL organised a Mega Blood Donation Camp in association with All Kerala Blood Donors Society, Club 25, Kerala Sports Council and State Bank of Travancore at Chandrashekaran Nair Stadium, Palayam as part of the programmes in connection with World Health Day. TPL Managing Director Shri. C. Balagopal presided the function. Shri. Panniyan Raveendran, Member of Parliament, was the Chief Guest for the Program. SBT General Manager felicitated the function. City Police Commissioner Shri. Ravada Chandrasekhar was the first Blood Donor. Minister for Forest and Housing Shri. Binoy Vishwam attended the Camp. Out of the 217 Donors who attended the Camp, Blood was collected from 107 Donors by the Blood Banks of Medical College Hospital, Regional Cancer Center and Sree Chitra Thirunal Institute for Medical Sciences.

24-Feb-2007: The Blood Donors' forum of the Indian Medical Association and TPL jointly hosted a meeting of Club 25, a grouping of Voluntary blood donors at Trivandrum IMA Office.

18-Jan-2007: TPL has won the State level award instituted by PRSI (Public Relations Society of India) for the Best Company promoting Corporate Social Responsbility Activities among the Industries in Kerala.

13-Jan-2007: Repeat regular donors from various Colleges in Trivandrum District including Professional Colleges attended the Club 25 meeting organized by TERUMO PENPOL Limited and Hotel South Park.

05-Aug-2006: TPL launches new -80 degree Centigrade Deep Freezer, which is designed as a fast freezer for the preparation of fresh frozen plasma and cryoprecipitate. This product also enhances the shelf life of fresh frozen plasma up to seven years.

05-Feb-2006: TPL introduces Composafe Semi-Automatic Expressor SAE 500 that helps standardise the red blood cells/packed cells by retaining selected volume of plasma with RBC in double and triple blood bags. This automatic process ensures maximum yield of components with optimum storage of RBC.

06-Jan-2006: TPL introduces blood bags with safety features that assure protection from blood-borne diseases. The new blood bags are equipped with Needle injury protector to reduce the potential of accidental needle stick injury during collection. They provide complete safety from Transfusion associated bacterial sepsis which represents the most common cause of death from infectious diseases.

The TPL Pre-donation bag is another new product which helps reduce the risk of bacterial contamination of blood. When blood is collected, the dirt and skin particles on the surface flow into the blood causing contamination. Pre-donation sampling bag enables diversion and collection of the first 25-30 ml of blood that usually contains skin particles, bacteria and dust particles. The remaining blood free from impurities can be collected in the primary bag.

13-Oct-2005: TPL introduces new Radio Frequency Tube Sealer XS 1010, which is designed to ensure safety against electric shock, fire and mechanical hazards as well as electromagnetic interference. This product produces hermetic seal by RF waves minimising contamination of blood and blood components.

19-Nov-2004: TPL introduces new Deep Freezer Composafe DF -40, which is designed for the storage of plasma and preserving the labile factors during shelf life. This deep freezer has got built-in temperature recorder and control unit and maintains the same display temperature and temperature inside the cabinet within set limits.

20-July-2004: TPL launches the improved version of Donor Station Composafe DC 200, which increases the comfort and safety to the donor and the phlebotomist. This product has been modified to reduce adverse reactions associated with blood donation and it's aesthetic appearance will provide the blood banks with a modern appearance.

23-June-2004: TPL launches two products, Thawing baths CB 100 and WB 100, for the safe and uniform thawing of fresh frozen plasma. The Composafe cryo thawing bath is designed for safe thawing of fresh frozen plasma at four degree centigrade for optimum yield of cryo precipitate. It can maintain temperature at any set value between four degree C and 37 degree C.

The Plasma thawing bath WB 100 is designed for the uniform thawing of frozen plasma before transfusion. In a laboratory, it could be deployed as a Water bath; it could also be put in component separation room for thawing of plasma.

12-Nov-2001: TPL launches the Terumo Automatic Component Extractor TACE, which helps to bring down the time required to separate blood components in blood banks by easy, fast and standardised method.

19-July-1999: Tokyo-based Terumo Corporation of Japan has signed a contract to acquire 74% share of Peninsula Polymers Limited, Trivandrum. The new joint venture to be known as Terumo Penpol Limited.
